Driving Industry Progress Through Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing

At Teys, collaboration and knowledge-sharing are at the heart of our commitment to a sustainable and future-focused beef industry. As one of Australia’s leading processors and exporters, we recognise the responsibility that comes with our scale—to champion safety, quality, and continuous improvement across the supply chain.

This year, our people have been actively engaging with producers and industry bodies to deliver initiatives that make a real difference. At the Clermont Producer Day, for example, we joined over 150 stakeholders to share insights on animal welfare, branded beef programmes, and innovation such as Teys Cattle Connect®, our paperless livestock platform. These conversations reflect our drive to keep producers connected and informed.

We also facilitated the EUCAS Producer Day held at Teys Jindalee Feedlot in August, alongside AUS Meat and NFAS representatives and EUCAS program managers – reinforcing our commitment to compliance and best practice in livestock assurance. These events provide valuable opportunities to collaborate on standards that underpin market access.

We’re equally passionate about investing in the next generation. Through partnerships with Angus Australia and the Northern Territory Cattlemen’s Association (NTCA), young producers experienced the full paddock-to-plate journey—from feedlot operations at Condamine to processing at Beenleigh and logistics at our automated Port of Brisbane centre. These immersive tours showcase the complexity of our supply chain and the opportunities it offers.

In May, we proudly took on a major sponsorship role at the Angus Expo, held at AELEC in Tamworth, NSW, in partnership with Angus Australia. In parallel to the Expo, Teys Jindalee hosted an Angus Shootout Trial – to highlight the very best of Angus cattle from our producer partners. This event, as part of the World Angus Forum, hosted in Australia, celebrated breed excellence and innovation, and our involvement reflects Teys’ dedication to supporting world-class genetics and producer engagement.

Our commitment to quality was highlighted at the MSA Excellence in Eating Quality Awards in Adelaide, where Teys contributed to panel discussions on how processors and producers can work together to deliver premium eating experiences. Similarly, our collaboration with Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA) continues to drive research into sustainable feedlot practices, including methane-reducing feed additives and welfare innovations—critical steps towards future-proofing our industry.

Supporting industry talent is another passion and priority. We proudly sponsored the ALFA Future Feeders Network Forum in Toowoomba, connecting emerging feedlot professionals with industry leaders. And through our longstanding partnership with the Australian Intercollegiate Meat Judging Association (ICMJ), we’ve helped students explore career pathways in beef processing at annual conferences in Wagga Wagga and Rockhampton. These events, built on ICMJ’s mission to develop meat science skills and industry knowledge, allow our teams to share technical expertise and inspire future leaders.

Across all these initiatives, one theme stands out: the passion of our people to share their knowledge, enthusiasm, and contribute to the advancement of the beef industry in Australia. By working together with our producers and industry partners, we’re delivering quality beef—and we’re shaping a resilient, innovative supply chain for generations to come.
